South Eastern Ontario Launches "Farm to Flavours" Campaign Celebrating Local Food, Farms and Rural Experiences
A new collection of regional guides inspires visitors to discover South Eastern Ontario through its farms, local food, welcoming communities, and authentic experiences, with Destination Ontario amplification this fall.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - July 28, 2026– From farm gates and farmers' markets to wineries, orchards, family farms, and scenic country roads, South Eastern Ontario is inviting visitors to experience the region through a new agritourism campaign, Farm to Flavours.
Developed by RTO 9 / South Eastern Ontario in collaboration with regional destination partners and travel writer Laura Paquet of Ottawa Road Trips, the campaign showcases the people, places, and flavours that define the region's rich agricultural landscape. Through a collection of six regional guides, visitors are encouraged to follow the journey from farm to table—meeting local producers, browsing farm markets and roadside stands, enjoying seasonal flavours at restaurants and cafés, and exploring the cities, towns and rural communities that bring South Eastern Ontario's food story to life.
Each guide features curated itineraries, farm-to-table dining, farmers' markets, pick-your-own experiences, wineries, cideries, craft producers, and scenic road trips. Visitors can also enjoy hands-on experiences like cuddling lambs and goats, meeting alpacas, learning about beekeeping, exploring flower farms, and discovering family-friendly farms where memorable encounters with furry (and feathered!) friends are all part of the experience. Combined with vibrant downtowns, waterfront communities, independent cafés, and outdoor adventures, the guides encourage visitors to slow down, stay longer, and experience the region through its people, places, and flavours.
"Farm to Flavours is about creating meaningful connections between visitors and the people who grow, raise, and produce the food that makes South Eastern Ontario so special," said Lesley McDougall, Digital Marketing Manager, RTO 9 / South Eastern Ontario. "These guides encourage travellers to slow down, take the scenic route and experience the stories, flavours and communities that make our region unique."
The campaign also highlights the important role agritourism plays in supporting local businesses, strengthening rural economies, and encouraging visitors to spend more time exploring communities throughout South Eastern Ontario.
To extend the campaign's reach, Destination Ontario will amplify Farm to Flavours through a paid provincial marketing campaign running August 24 through October 11, 2026, helping introduce even more visitors to the region's farms, flavours, and rural experiences during the fall travel season.
