# Building Cycling Tourism in South Eastern Ontario

RTO 9 is working on a new Cycling Tourism Strategy, with a vision to grow the cycling industry in South Eastern Ontario and make it a destination of choice for tourists and visitors wishing to enjoy a quality cycling experience.

The strategy will assess existing cycling infrastructure, identify opportunities to enhance cycling experiences for residents and visitors, and provide actionable recommendations to strengthen the region's position as a premier cycling destination.

This work aims to build upon the [Ontario & Quebec Cycling Corridor Project by Destination Canada](https://dd.destinationcanada.com/en-ca/tourism-corridor-strategy/cycle-ontario-quebec-corridor) to support the development of cycling products and routes further into and across the region. The project will build upon existing investments and planning efforts, addressing identified gaps while maintaining consistency with established cycling development priorities.

Once completed, the Strategy will provide a comprehensive framework to guide future cycling opportunities in South Eastern Ontario, led by RTO 9 and our partners.
