Promoting Reconciliation through Sustainability

Join William Hogg, Business Development Executive at GreenStep, for an insightful webinar on September 24, 2025 on how Indigenous tourism operators can embark on their sustainability journey by participating in the Sustainable Tourism 2030 Pledge—a free and accessible program designed to help businesses take their first steps toward sustainability. By taking the Pledge, tourism operators gain access to GreenStep’s online sustainable tourism assessment tool, enabling them to complete a baseline self-assessment and identify opportunities to enhance their management practices, socioeconomic contributions, natural resource stewardship, cultural impacts, and environmental footprint. In partnership with the Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada, GreenStep is proud to support reconciliation efforts by donating $5 to the Indigenous Tourism Destination Fund (ITDF) for every Pledge completed. During this session, you will also learn about two additional GreenStep programs designed to support businesses on their sustainability journey:

  • The Sustainable Tourism Pathway and the Global Sustainable Tourism Council-Accredited Certification Program, which provides globally recognized standards and guidance for continuous improvement.
  • The EcoFund Verified Program, helping businesses measure, verify, and communicate their sustainability efforts to stakeholders.
For every business that signs up for one of these programs, GreenStep will also make a financial contribution to the ITDF, further advancing reconciliation and support for Indigenous tourism across Canada. Join us to discover how your business can contribute to a more sustainable and inclusive tourism future.
