As digital expectations continue to rise, ensuring your website is accessible is no longer just best practice, it’s a requirement. This introductory webinar will provide tourism operators with a clear, practical overview of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) as it applies to websites and digital content.

Join RTO 9 and JBC | Pushing Digital Boundaries for this introduction to AODA compliance for websites. Designed specifically for non-technical audiences, this session will break down what to consider when building your website, including common mistakes and how to fix them. We will also review important tools that can support building accessible websites.

Participants will leave with a stronger understanding of:

  • The different WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) compliance ratings and why they matter
  • How to use common compliance tools to support building an accessible website
  • The role and importance of colour contrast in accessible design
  • The purpose of image descriptors, ALT text and captions in accessible designs

Whether you manage your own website or work with a developer, this session will help you ask the right questions and take meaningful first steps toward a more inclusive online presence.
